WelcomeIntegrated Pest Management (IPM) is a sustainable approach to managing pests that combines biological, cultural, physical, and chemical tools in a way that minimizes economic, health, and environmental risks. (National Coalition on IPM) The Vermont IPM Program will continue to focus on the IPM priorities and needs identified by stakeholders. The overall goal of the statewide program is to reduce economic, health, and environmental risks associated with pest management activities through participatory assessment methods that are conducted in the state and region. The following linked pages provide an overview of Vermont's IPM programs in Apple, Field Corn, Grapes, Greenhouse Ornamentals, Vegetable & Berry, and School IPM. The programs are multi-disciplinary, including regional collaboration, and are closely integrated with applied research. Methods of education and information delivery include: one-to-one education, field validation trials and demonstrations, workshops, training sessions and presentations, newsletters, websites, etc. |
