Soil preparation
spade 8-12 inches if bed, remove rocks, add peat moss/compost
if single hole, dig no deeper than pot depth, twice as wide
soil test: main interest is pH (6-7)
- often phosphorus adequate, add at planting in bed or hole
- nitrogen only once plants established
