Garden of the Month, September 2002
Hadspen House
This house and gardens in Somerset, England reflects generations of gardeners,
and is a must see for both designers and those interested in new perennials.
Hellebores and hostas from Eric Smith were bred here. It was the
home and gardens of Penelope Hobhouse until 1979. Now home to Canadian
gardeners Nori and Sandra Pope, it features their bold ideas on color and
their new plants (such as Astrantia 'Hadspen Blood' and Dicentra
'Gold Heart').
