University of Maine Flower Trials 
The Rogers Farm
in Old Town, near the Orono campus, in addition to agronomic and vegetable
research, is home to over an acre of trial gardens. Much of this
is a demonstration garden run by about 50 Master Gardener volunteers each
year, and features several gardens including perennials, annuals, and herbs.
A few sample photos are below from the August 2002 field day. There
is also an All America selections display garden run by Dr. Lois Stack,
as well as trials of hardy shrub roses.
