The following herbaceous perennials are depicted in photos and text as previous perennials of the month, or plants covered in either Garden Flowers or Herbaceous Garden Plants Online.  Check back as new photos and files will be added. These perennials are especially appropriate for the East Coast, Plains and Central U.S., and Northwest, with many also tolerant of southern heat. Many are probably not best for USDA hardiness zones 9-10, although this group includes some of the "tender" or "tropical" perennials currently used seasonally in northern gardens.
