Scarify-- abrade hard seed coat for water absorption
- often legume/pea family (eg. Amsonia, Baptisia)
- sand paper, nail file, larger lots--rock tumbler with water and sand or small stones
Stratify-- needs cool and moist
- moist mix, 35-40°, 4-12 weeks (cooler)
- eg. Acanthus, Anemone, Dictamnus, Tricyrtis
